So much for the Bill of Rights.... Due Process, You Had A Good Run...

On September 30, 2011, Anwar Al Alaki, an American born citizen was killed by the United States Government via Predator Drone.  He was not apprehended; he was not charged; he was not an immediate imminent threat; he was not given a trial.  In essence, somebody in the United States Government gave an order to kill a man and taking his life without Due Process of Law.

Was Anwar Al Alaki a bad person and guilty of planning terrorist activities?  Probably but I do not know.  Regardless, there is a constitutional right of presumption of innocence, a right to a fair and speedy trial by a jury of his peers and the right to confront an accuser.  In contrast, our President or somebody who reports to him believed that Anwar Al Alaki had no presumption of abuse and in essence became Judge, Jury and Executioner.

The American people must write their congressmen and senators and let them know that whoever blatantly violated the Constitution must answer.  When someone takes the life of another, there must be a reason.  Under the 5th Amendment, you cannot take the life, liberty or property without Due Process of Law.  Somebody took a man's life without Due Process.  This is murder.  Is Al Alaki a sympathetic person?  I am pretty certain he is not but one must look at the bigger picture.  It is far more important to preserve the rights of all citizens regardless of whether they deserve it or not.  At some point, you or I could be chosen to have one of our rights taken at the whims of some bureaucrat.

This is a truly fearful and dangerous act.

I really feel similar to the execution of Osama Bin Laden.  Was he a bad person?  There is little doubt in my mind that he was responsible for 9/11, yet, he still needed to be put on trial.  The Nazis were given trials in Nuremberg and so should anyone's life we are taking.  The best I can tell is Seal Team Six could have captured him but apparently, his life was to be taken without trial.

In what little defense I can surmise for the administration, Bin Laden was not a US citizen.  Al Alaki was and he was targeted.  Did he plan terrorist activities?  I do not know, I have no direct evidence to review to determine a verdict; regardless, a jury of 12 should have determined this not a bureaucrat or a President.  If we allow a President to keep a 'hitlist' we have lost our Republic as well as our Constitutional Protections.

Is it time to divide the country?

I am beginning to question whether it is time to create a divide between those who want their socialist utopia and those of us who want a Constitutional Republic based on our current Constitution,  I would divide the south and north.  Those who want their so-called utopia can move north and those who adore dangerous freedom to move south.  I choose the constitutionalists in the south because there is a greater population in the north that wants socialism and more freedom lovers in the south.

I am certain that if that were to happen we would have a an East and West Germany situation.  There would be northern utopians risking their lives to join the danger of the free capitalists of the south.

This is just a thought but one I have no doubt would be correct.

Been gone awhile.. I am finally back...

I have been away from my little diary/blog for some time.  Mostly because I may be the only one who reads this and I already know my own opinions.  Regardless, I am going to make this a journal of my thoughts and make more posts in the hopes that one day, others will read it and comment.

Government wants tax miles driven...

According to the article from the hill, the government wants to tax how many miles you drive.  Personally, there is a serious privacy issue.  One has to presume some advice would have to be attached to your car.  I am sure it will be sold as a non-tracking device but just show mileage.

I am sure Big Brother will give preferential treatment to Hybrid drivers or Government Motors customers.  At some point, us liberty lovers must take a stand.  I really admire the Tea Party.  They are everyday people standing up and saying enough is a enough.  They are speaking in a Patrick Henry way.... They are talking to King George and it is falling on a deaf ear.

Patrick Henry's "Give me Liberty or Give me death" speech is known for its famous quip.  Yet, when one reads the entire speech, it is eloquent and well reasoned.  When he says...

"And what have we to oppose to them? Shall we try argument? Sir, we have been trying that for the last ten years. Have we anything new to offer upon the subject? Nothing. We have tried argument, we have protested at 1600 Pennsylvania and were not even noticed... or ignored  There have been disgust and anguish by many and that disgust and anguish has been made apparent, yet we are either ignored or marginalized.  The majority of our government officials and bureaucrats have come to their own conclusion that they are our masters.  The arrogance and power grab is blatantly outside the constitution yet by writing that, the Department of Homeland Security (aka, Stasi USA), makes me a potential domestic terrorist.  The madness does not appear to have any end in sight.

I feel ineffectual and confused.  Like many others, we know Big Brother is lurking and we know Big Brother needs to be stopped but like others, I don't know where to start.  Unfortunately, there are countless mindless voters.    I propose for Atlas to Shrug and I know Atlas will shrug; I do not know when.  Unfortunately, I am merely talk... I am not the first to shrug. I am a producer but I have quit hiring new employees and when people quit I have decided to stop hiring replacements.  The government can be choked by Atlas Shrugging but would the mindless replace our Republic with something that has already failed.  I suspect that yes they will.

According to the administration, Osama Bin Laden is officially dead.  Personally, I thought he had been dead for years.  In reality, nothing changes.  He had not pulled anything off in nearly a decade.  Since the witch is dead, lets bring the witch hunters home.  We have far bigger threats on our southern border than 10,000 miles around the world.

I am not disrespecting our fine men in uniform.  I consider our military some of the finest men alive and they do their job impeccably.  I do think it is time to bring them back the USA.  I believe they have been on a witch hunt for years.

Regardless, we have bigger fish to fry and it starts with the out of control budget.

Unemployment

I see Yahoo puts the linked article that seasonal layoffs are the reason unemployment increased.  Fair enough, but this same group touted the drop in unemployment and failed to mention seasonal hiring.

I have long believed in the three kinds of lies... There are lies, damn lie and then there are statistics.  Every time I see a statistic, I just roll my eyes.  Sadly, it may be correct but studies and statistics tend to prove whatever you wish.  If you take data and torture it enough... it will confess to whatever you wish.

Regardless, real unemployment is considerably up.  The only sector that appears to be hiring is the government sector.  Government sector jobs are merely drains on the economy and since you took a human resource out of the workforce, you have reduce productivity by that person's production possibility.  Instead, the private sector has to feed another looter that does not produce anything of value.

Oh well, the only reason metro areas lost jobs was seasonal employment...  Lest we forget, those were never meant to be real employment numbers.  At least those who were laid off can get in line to get as much as three years unemployment pay for not working.

We bombed Libya today....

What else is there to say?  Our fearless leader takes a vacation to Rio; I guess with picking NCAA brackets on ESPN and playing a round of golf, he felt like the country was way too stable so he opted to get the USA involved in another conflict.

As I write this, Japan has reactors in meltdown; we are at war in Afghanistan and have a huge presence in Iraq; the USA is over 14 trillion dollars in debt and growing exponentially; the rest of the middle east is either in civil war or it is nearing a boiling point; food prices are rising at unprecedented levels; his appointed fed governor says that the real measure of inflation is iPad pricing; his budget accounting office admits to understating costs and actually says that interest payments should be excluded from the budget.  This is all in one week.

What else is there to do??? Hell, lets get into another war.  After all, I have already received a Nobel Peace Prize and they can't take it away now.

I really want to know how much time he spends on vacation because from all appearances it is a lot.  When he ran for office did he really think he could just give a speech make everything fine and take lots of vacation to wherever he wished when he wanted?

I am going to start calling him Emperor Nero... he puts the place on fire, blames others and fiddles while it burns.  He could also be called King Louis.... he is too busy doing so many things for his own pleasure to realize there is a business of running the country.

Fed Governor is CLUELESS!!!

As I read an article about New York Federal Reserve Bank President addressing inflation, my thoughts about the total lack of any sanity in the Federal Reserve were given evidence.

How can a man with such influence actually say inflation is in check by comparing the price of an iPad and grocery and energy?  Personally, I know several people with iPads and some use them often.  On the other hand, every person I know eats groceries and uses energy EVERY DAY.  I invite anyone to support his views.  I would live to hear how inflation is minimal while all commodities are skyrocketing.

As I listened to Anthony Weiner (D-NY) last night, he kept saying we steal from non-tax payers and give money to millionaires and billionaires.  According to the Weiner, I guess society is  stealing food stamp cards from the 40 something million people being supported by food stamps and then turning around and giving them to millionaires and billionaires.  If we are truly giving food stamps to millionaires and billionaires, I will agree with the Weiner and that should stop.  Yet, the statement is so preposterous, I assume he is merely lying.  If he is not lying, then he is simply stupid.  Regardless, stupid or liar should not be in a position to spend our money.


Democrats and Republicans cannot come to a consensus as to the magnitude of budget cuts.  Doing my best to put on a positive spin.... at least both agree that cuts are needed. 

On the other hand, the mean evil Republicans want to slash approximately 60 Billion from the budget while the altruistic Democrats will concede 6 Billion.  While both ignore the elephant in the room... we are going to run a deficit in excess of $1.5 Trillion dollars... That is $1,500,000,000,000.  In 2011 alone, with a best estimate of 1.5 Trillion, every man, woman and child will increase their debt load by approximately $5,000.  This does not include the money that is actually collected.  The budget is out of control.

This is sheer idiotic raving of lunatics.  I am wondering when Chairman Obama will appoint Charlie Sheen to a Czar position.  While Charlie Sheen is a moron and a lunatic, he actually manages to make a profit.  On the other hand, these Ivy league educated elite may be as intelligent as they tell us they are... they cannot balance a checkbook.

I am sure that some Weiner type will ask me to tell them what they should cut.  While I have put very few minutes into thinking about it.. I will start with 50% across the board.  Next, I will start cutting anything that is not absolutely necessary.  The military will come back home.  The entitlement programs will be renamed the apropos name... HANDOUT. 

We will still hav ea court system; we will still have a National Defense but we will not have a National Offense.  We will cease to be getting involved in foreign affairs.

I understand Japan has some trying times right now.  Yet, we cannot afford to give them assistance.  Would we be able to give them assistance had we not already bankrupted ourselves?!?   Perhaps, but unfortunately, we are BANKRUPT.  While I have serious sadness for Japan, we are destitute.

One start is lets have Hollywood put on one of their telethons.  After all, they had one for Haiti and one for Katrina.  Why has nothing been planned?  Maybe Kanye West and Hollyweird just hates Japanese people.

Fighting 'for the people'... we are 'for the people...'

As I watch this whole Egyptian demonstration unfold I keep hearing about how the 'Muslim Brotherhood' are moderates that are 'for the people.'  I really know little about them but I know history is riddled with tyrants that claim they are merely for the people.

Adolph Hitler was huge proponent of being 'for the people' and against some  abstract enemy.  He often times talked about better living conditions for Germans and more assistance to raise children.  He continuously preached about how the greedy bankers, oftentimes Jewish, were the problem.  Hitler often times talked about a vision of great German technology and architecture.  While much of what he talked about sounded like positive hope and change, history shows that his desire to help 'the people' only results in another power grab.  Always fear a person who claims they can bring prosperity or create jobs.  While Hitler promised prosperity and peace for Germans, he merely delivered an attempted Genocide of the Jewish people and countless deaths among the Gentiles.  While many men believe he is the penultimate evil; unfortunately, he is merely a single example of pure evil among a long line that promise to be only there 'for the people.'

Vladimir Lenin started and completed the Bolshevik revolution to promise 'the people' would be free and prosperous.  While all of the hope and change sells well, specifics are usually left out.  During the Soviet regime, there was no worker's Utopia.  While actual numbers of slaughtered citizens are not known, estimates are easily in the tens of millions and quite possibly over 100 million. 


In today's environment, the government entities attempt to be against the greedy corporate interests or Wall Street.  While it is true, that some of these folks are unscrupulous, far more atrocities and liberty thievery are committed by governments than a few renegade private interests.  If all is left alone, the private evils will be put out of business in relatively short order by the free market.  If government intervenes, then any mistakes are never ended. they are merely 'reformed.'  'Reformed' merely means some kind of reorganization that creates additional layers of bureaucracy and usually a greater power grab.

If you must make a decision, always look for the person that advocates the maximum freedom.  Never fall for a trick that promises housing, food or any other tangible good or service.  Look for the person who supports individual liberty and that liberty includes the freedom to fail.

Judge not, lest ye be judged.  Matthew 7:1 is  a verse that President Obama should consider when he chooses his words.  When he stated the above statement, the debt was a staggering $8.2 Trillion dollars ($8,200,000,000,000).

In 2007, Nancy Pelosi became Speaker of the House and the Democrats took control of the purse strings.  Since, the debt eclipsed $14 Trillion dollars ($14,000,000,000,000) this week.  In addition, former Speaker Pelosi had the audacity to say at her final press conference as Speaker the following: 

"Deficit reduction has been a high priority for us. It is our mantra, pay-as-you-go."

I am not here to let the Republicans off the hook.  The reason the Democrats were elected in 2006 and had a landslide election in 2008 was their own out of control spending.  Strangely, the Democrats believed they received a mandate to bankrupt our republic.

Back to the President, when he was a Senator, he made very judgmental statement and was able to vote against raising the debt ceiling at a politically expedient moment when the vote was already decided.  Since we also can evaluate one's actual thoughts through their subsequent actions, after 2 years of a President Obama regime, he has not met a spending bill he does not like.  I am anxiously awaiting the White House press corps to aggressively inquire about that statement.  For some reason, I think the White House press corps will overlook that statement.

I am certain the press corps will repeatedly point out how the Republicans did vote to raise the debt limit when it happens.  I wish the Republicans would submit a budget that slashes all budgets by 50% across the board.  The U.S. Government is no longer an entity that serves a purpose for common good but it has merely become a great big entitlement program consisting of a bunch of other entitlement programs.  If the congress is serious about preserving liberty, then it must start by a massive overhaul and not a token $100 Billion dollars ($100,000,000,000).  When $100 Billion is now mentioned as a token amount, then we know we are in trouble.
